ControlLocal Control + Analog Remote

LabMate 30 delivers adjustable 0 to +30 kV DC output at up to 0.4 mA in a compact benchtop instrument. Turns-counting controls, separate five-digit voltage and current displays, and automatic constant-voltage/constant-current crossover provide practical control for research, development, testing, and integration requiring a wider voltage range. Analog Remote I/O adds external programming, monitoring, and high-voltage control.

Why choose LabMate 30 - Positive, Analog Remote

Control

Two turns-counting dials independently set the voltage and current limits for local operation, with separate five-digit displays and front-panel indicators for remote operation and constant-current mode. The analog interface supports external voltage and current programming, voltage and current monitoring, remote-mode selection, and high-voltage enable control, accessed through a Micro HDMI Type-D receptacle on the front panel. The included HDMI-A-to-Micro-HDMI-D cable and breakout board provide convenient access to these signals.

Accessed through a Micro HDMI Type-D receptacle on the front panel via the included HDMI-A-to-Micro-HDMI-D cable and breakout board. Micro HDMI Type-D and HDMI Type-A use different pin numbering — use the supplied wiring chart rather than assuming identically numbered pins connect end to end. This connector is used only as a compact physical interface for these analog signals; it is not an HDMI audio/video port.

Automatic constant-voltage and constant-current regulation

LabMate 30 continuously monitors voltage and current and regulates whichever limit the load reaches first. In constant-voltage (CV) mode, the supply maintains the selected output voltage while the load draws current up to the set current limit. In constant-current (CC) mode, the supply maintains current at the selected limit while allowing voltage to adjust to the load. The supply crosses between CV and CC operation automatically. During an overload, arc, or short-circuit event, the current limit takes control. Current limiting is an operating function; it does not eliminate the need for appropriate high-voltage safeguards.

Connector assembly

Every LabMate 30 includes Spruce Science's coaxial high-voltage connector system. A central high-voltage conductor is surrounded by insulation and a grounded outer shield, which helps reduce capacitive coupling and electrical noise while adding a grounded barrier around the high-voltage path. The supply-side assembly is fixed to the instrument and protected by a robust stainless-steel connector shell. The included two-foot user-side cable connects through a quick-disconnect coupling. A 47 kOhm series resistor in the user-side assembly helps limit surge current during unexpected arcing events. The connector and cable assembly are rated up to 30 kV.

High-voltage safety: LabMate 30 produces hazardous high voltage and can store dangerous energy. Contact with the high-voltage output may cause serious or fatal injury. Use the instrument only by trained, qualified personnel within an appropriately designed, grounded, guarded, and interlocked system. De-energize the supply, verify zero output, and discharge stored energy before making or changing connections. Follow the user manual and your organization's electrical-safety procedures.
Choose the correct configuration: This is a fixed-polarity supply. Positive and negative LabMate supplies are separate products and are not field-switchable — confirm the polarity required by your application before ordering.
